Reporters covering the Grapefruit League spring training baseball game between the Cleveland Indians and the New York Mets in Winter Haven, Florida had found another news story when a 3-foot black snake came uninvited to watch the game. The black snake stirred panic in the press box as the New York Mets defeated the Cleveland Indians 6-5 on Tuesday. The reptile ran freely across notebooks and laptop computers in the bottom of the fourth inning.

A videotaping on a Wal-Mart store in Palm Coast, Florida shows a couple kissing each other before they spark fire in the sporting goods section that lead the store to close for two hours. According to WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida, the fire caused a propane tank to explode on Monday, filling the building with smoke. The other customers and employees were forced to evacuate.

Animal services are up in arms about a Tampa-based fast food restaurant promotional stunt asking customers to dress their cats in specially designed take out bags. The bags were invented after Checkers restaurant saw that Rap Cat, a cat puppet used in Checkers advertising commercials, was gaining popularity.

In a bid to pay tribute to all the dogs that helped to search wreckage at Ground Zero after the bombing of the nation's financial center in 2001, a nonprofit organization is selling Sept. 11 search-and-rescue puppy dolls. The Tribute Center situated near the World Trade Center site in New York is selling these stuffed toys for $11. 95.
