An oil painting by Chaim Soutine sells for $13. 6 million at a London auction, setting a record for a work by the artist. Le Boeuf Ecorche was created in 1924 and depicts a beef carcass. Christie's auction house estimated that it would only bring in $8. 4 million, reports BBC News.

A two-time Guinness record holder is hoping to enter the record book for the third time by executing 114 fingertip push-ups in one minute. Bibhuti Bhusan Mayak says the attempt takes him one step closer to achieving his goal of having 72 Guinness records under his belt.

Britain's Musicians' Union is calling on performers to come clean and tell audiences if they lip synch rather than sing live. The union is urging promoters, producers and artists to back its campaign for lip-synching to be clearly labeled during TV shows, in pop arenas and on stage. The union suggested that a lip-synching logo could be flashed up on television or on posters and tickets for shows.
