A Florida sheriff's deputy is unexpectedly intercepted by a bear while pursuing a prowler. In response he shocked the animal with his Taser gun. A Milton, Florida homeowner called Santa Rosa County deputies Tuesday night after finding her air conditioner torn from her kitchen window.

U. S. Border Patrol agents are balking at wearing their uniforms, which bear the labels "Made in Mexico. " "It's embarrassing to be protecting the U. S. -Mexico border and be wearing a uniform made in Mexico," says T. J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council.

An 85-year-old Florida man is the world's oldest hang-glider pilot. Goss picked up hang gliding at 54, and at 85, he is still flying at least once a month at Wallaby Ranch near Orlando. Earlier this year, he earned a spot in the Guinness World Records. The former dentist taught himself to fly by jumping off beach dunes after reading about the sport in Reader's Digest.
