Prince Charles Honors Young Boy's Request To Plant More Trees

Prince Charles recently responded to a child's request of growing more trees on his street. The royal honored the schoolboy's plea for help by arranging for more trees to be planted in his neighborhood and at his nearby school. Harvey Cobb, seven, wrote to the royal to complain about the lack of foliage in his street after his head teacher Val Watkins asked her students to write to a famous person about an environmental issue.

Japanese Tourists Require Psychiatric Treatment After Visiting Paris

About 12 Japanese tourists a year have to undergo therapy after visiting Paris, a newspaper reported Sunday. This year, Japan's embassy in Paris has had to repatriate at least four visitors due to what the newspaper calls "Paris Syndrome. "Journal du Dimanche explains the psychiatric problems are caused by a discrepancy between the tourists' expectations and the experiences they have while visiting the city.

Gems To Light Up Christmas Lanterns In San Francisco

To mark the centennial celebration of Filipino migration to the United States, San Fernando Mayor Oscar Rodriguez said a limited set of 12 lanterns will be designed with gems and unveiled at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, California on October 21. The lanterns will be designed by renowned Filipino fashion designer Marisse "Marigonz" Gonzales.

"

Icelanders To Gaze Night Sky

Reykjavik and two other towns in Iceland will observe lights out on Thursday night so that people can gaze at the night sky. Residents have been instructed to sit in their houses during the blackout.
