A new survey has uncovered women's true opinions regarding make-up and the beauty industry, and it isn't always pretty. The website news. com. au asked a total of 1,898 people about their feelings on how attractive they felt without make-up on and if they believed the extensive cosmetic advertising campaigns.

Three-year-old Riggs, a bulldog from Prairie City, Iowa won the "Beautiful Bulldog" contest Monday, beating 50 odd dogs in a contest including the likes of Sir Grizwald Snorzalot, Napoleon Underbite and Crazy Legs Da Moose. What does it take to win a bulldog "beauty contest?" Riggs' owners say it was his personality that got him the top spot. The contest is held annually to draw attention to the Drake Relays, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious track and field events.

Ashrita Furman, a 52-year-old man from New York claims to have set yet another world record. Well known for setting as many as 54 bizarre world records, Furman is claiming another entry in the Guinness Book of World Records by doing the maximum squat thrusts in one minute. But the beauty of Furman's recent record lies in its duality. Not only did he do maximum squats, he performed the feat on the back of an elephant.

Angela Bustillo, who was crowned Miss Catabria 2007, was debarred from the title after it was learned that she was the mother of a three-year-old boy. The incident has sparked the issue of sexism in the country since, according to Bustillo, no such limitations apply to contestants in the Mr. Cantabria contest. Bustillo, 22, said she knew the pageant's rules that bar pregnant women, or those who already have children, from taking part in the contest, but that she thought they were obsolete.

Police in the Chicago suburb of Algonquin is looking for a man who has been getting facials and body scrubs and leaving without paying. The man, who has been nicknamed "Spa-bandit" by some, has robbed as many as 20 spas for several thousand dollars worth of services. According to officials investigating the case, the man has been operating since March 2006, targeting spas in Chicago, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
