A 6-year-old girl who escaped a house fire early Tuesday died after running back inside to find her mother. The youngster did not realize her mother had jumped to safety from a second-floor window. Firefighters found the body of little Da-Onah Watts under a bed on the second floor. Da-Onah and a 13-year-old cousin had been asleep on the first floor when they awoke to flames and ran from the house.

A Florida man has been arrested after police say he kept his dead mother in her bed for months to keep collecting her Social Security checks. Police say Robert Bea, 49, knew his mother was dead when police found the decomposing body of Vernice Bea inside a bedroom at 411 W Voorhis Ave. in Deland.

He has proposed to perform a most dangerous act known as the Iron Maiden - being sandwiched between two beds of nails while people stand on top. The charity he hopes to earn money for? A Chinese woman who obviously has no fears about contracting bird flu is living in a cage with 300 birds. The 25-year-old woman from Hubei has nested herself in a cage in the middle of a park. She plans to stay in the cage, suspended 12ft above the ground, for seven days.
