In an attempt to improve the hand-eye coordination of kids, about 42 elementary schools from Sacramento, California participated in a unique two-day sport stacking competition. Attended by over 300 students, the competition is a game in which participants must stack and unstack 12 specially designed plastic cups in the lowest possible time.

A school is facing criticism after it barred special-education students from participating in a spelling bee. Mendis Brown, principal of IS 252 Middle School Brooklyn, New York, refused to let two students participate in the contest, reportedly saying "You don't have the brains. "

Experience Works, an organization offering training and employment services for the elderly, has named a 104-year-old as America's oldest worker. Waldo McBurney of Quinter, Kansas, has been honored by the group while other elderly peers of his, have already spent decades in retirement. McBurney has no plans for retirement soon. He graduated from the then Kansas State Agricultural College, which is currently known as Kansas State University in 1927. He worked in agriculture for twenty-five years, before he started working as a beekeeper.

According to an ABC news report, bee hives by the thousands are being stolen. Beekeepers in Tasmania estimate thefts totaling approximately $100,000. According to the experts, each bee hive, if pollinated, is worth $80 to $100.
