The beer industry is reaching out to customers usually attracted to the fruity-tasting mixed drinks. Energy infused beers, vitamin-rich brews and even chocolate flavored beers are being introduced.

Miller Brewing Company announced its new Frederick Miller Classic Chocolate Lager, which will be available this holiday season in Wisconsin and some mid-western cities from October to December. This is the second year the company will offer a seasonal brew.

While beer remains a $9 billion industry, beer began to lose out to rum, vodka and other spirits. So breweries became creative.

Anheuser-Busch also introduced a line of flavored beers such as Michelob Honey Lager and Zeigenbock Amber, which is only sold in Texas.

Miller Spokesman Pete Marino said, "It's about demonstrating what beer can be all about. Today there's a lot of expectation from beer drinkers for variety, and we can create a lot of different flavors and options outside of traditional beer."
