A 1967 Volkswagen Beetle formally owned by Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann is being auctioned on Ebay for $383,000 or 300,000 euros from $105,000.

The 12,000 euro blue book value of the car apparently makes no difference to fans of the coach who took Germany to the semi-finals. Klinsmann drove the car in 1994 and 1995.

The auction began on July 1 and runs through Tuesday. At a recent news conference Klinsmann said, "I really couldn't recommend bidding for that car. It was already completely rusty when I got rid of it."

The bidding has gone far beyond the $245,000 an online company paid for Pope Benedict XVI's former Volkswagen Golf last year.
