Amid Earth Day celebration and despite a memo from county officials reminding employees to save on energy, the Bronx County Hall of Justice was brightly lit at the wee hours of the morning. The New York Daily News published photos and ran a story on the brightly lit public building as proof of the apparent lack of environmental consciousness among its occupants and users.

A cemetery in Copenhagen has designated an area for homosexuals who wish to be buried with people of the same sexual orientation. The area in Assistens Cemetery is funded by an association called Regnbuen (Rainbow). It rented space in the cemetery that can accommodate up to 45 urns. Each spot costs $526 (2,500 kroner}.

British magazine Bookseller recently published poll results that revealed the past year's three strangest book titles, continuing the magazine's annual trend. The award, named the Diagram Prize, for the oddest book title for 2007 was given to one titled "If You Want Closure In Your Relationship, Start With Your Legs. "

An American experimental artist is scheduled to hold an art show involving the preparation of a giant salad to be served to the 300 visitors. The artist, Alison Knowles, will hold the event at the Tate Museum in London. Reports say that the artist will be mixing, chopping, and serving the salad to the guest, with the help of five other museum employees.

Good finds in the city are high-quality silk, jewelry, and traditional crafts for a reasonable amount of money. Buenos Aires in Argentina is cited for its low cost leather products. Denmark's Copenhagen is among the top five for its wide-range of merchandise especially home accessories and glassware such as Holmegaard and Royal Copenhagen Porcelain.
