Stumpy, the eight-days-old duckling, stands discrete from the rest of the members of his family. The chicken has born with a rare mutation that has left him with an extra pair of full-sized legs. "It was absolutely bizarre. I was thinking 'he's got too many legs' and I kept counting 'one, two, three, four,'" Nicky Janaway, a duck farmer in New Forest, Hampshire, said as she showed the duckling to reporters.

In London's booming real estate market, any price will be fair enough, even if it costs $335,000 for a 77-square foot apartment. According to the real estate agent handling the sale, it is the location of the tiny dilapidated studio suite that has made it so costly. While the apartment, which was probably a former storage room, has all the basic facilities that a five-room home would provide, the only problem lies in the size, whether it is a cabinet, a sink or a shower.

According to U. S. police, there has been a sudden increase in extraordinary crimes over the Christmas season, which included snowman stabbers and drunk float drivers. One such person, David Allen Rodgers, 42, was arrested on Dec. 3 for driving while intoxicated. He was at the wheel of a float during the annual Christmas parade in Anderson, South Carolina, when he sped down the street in a float with 19 people aboard, ran a red light and led police on a 3-mile chase.

A broken fingernail at a nightclub, a mouse that swallows medicine, and a woman who needs help getting her drunken boyfriend up to bed are all but a few of the thousands of calls made to the 999 emergency hotline in the U. K. A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service says demand rose by 15 percent in the past year due to the bizarre calls that are made almost on a daily basis.
