A pastor who brandished a gun during a sermon was arrested by authorities during church services Sunday because they had discovered he was a convicted felon. Jerry Wayne "Dusty" Whitaker of Victory Baptist Church was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, but he was released Monday after posting a $20,000 bond. Whitaker, 58, had been convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm during drug trafficking in 1990. Members of the church said he had not told them about his criminal past.

A federal judge ruled that US currency is unfair to the blind and should be changed in a way that blind people can distinguish between denominations. Judge James Robertson said the US Department of Treasury is breaking the law in his ruling on a suit by the American Council of the Blind. He ordered the agency to looking into ways for the visually impaired to tell the bills apart within the next 30 days.

Blind skier Kevin "Cannonball" Alderton has set two new world records despite his disability. His latest stunt hit a blistering 105 mph at a course in Les Arcs, France. Last week, he set a new indoor record in Landgraaf, Holland where he registered over 56mph.

A British court sentences a blind man to a three-month suspended sentence after he confessed to driving a car. Warley magistrates court also barred Omed Aziz, 31, from driving for three years.

A blind man who was pulled over last April for erratic driving in Oldbury, West Midlands, is due to be sentenced Monday. Police who pulled the car over were told the man in the passenger seat, who also had been banned from driving, was giving him instructions on where to steer and when to break. Not surprisingly, Omed Aziz, 31, was convicted of dangerous driving.
