Rome Bans Goldfish Bowls

The city of Rome is prohibiting goldfish bowls, after animal rights activists say the bowls are harmful to fish. The classic spherical fish bowls are banned under a new by-law. It also prevents fish or other animals being given away as fairground prizes.

World Toilet Summit Celebrates Public Hygiene

Delegates to the annual World Toilet Summit in Northern Ireland's capital deliberate on crucial issues like anti-social activities in rest rooms, portable toilets, and amenities for the blind. Raymond Martin, director of the Irish Toilet Association, says delegates have launched a "Bog Standard Campaign" to advocate better toilets in UK schools. They have also inaugurated Belfast's first public UriLift toilet, a stainless steel urinal that rises hydraulically out of the ground to facilitate male users.

Married Couple Dies An Hour Apart

Max and Bessie Cohen died Monday, after being married for 74 years and nine months. What is interesting, is that Max died from complications of dementia at 97, and she in her sleep at 94, only an hour apart from each other. Daughter, Marilyn Berman of Pikesville says, "They died within an hour of one another. I still can't believe it. She died at 6 a. m. , and he died exactly an hour later. Their hearts always beat as one, and they lived that way until the end. "
