Credit card thieves are now making donations to charities - in your name. It's the newest tactic to ensure thieves get the best price for personal data they sell on the black market, according to Symantec, a security firm. Like reputable online retailers that check you have enough in the bank by making a small deposit, before OKing an order for an expensive laptop, thieves are now making small donations to ensure the card they just bought is valid.

World hot dog eating champion, Takeru Kobayashi, was diagnosed with jaw arthritis during his training for the July 4 Nathan's Famous hot dog eating event in New York. On his blog entitled "Occupational Hazard" he said he can only open his mouth the size of a fingertip. He suffered the injury only a week into training.

A Texas man credits the Internet for his victory over CompUSA, who he said sold him an empty box instead of a camera. Terry Heaton was delighted to learn that his local CompUSA store was liquidating. He had only planned to buy a laptop but soon racked up a $3,500 bill purchasing other sale items like a digital camera for his step-daughter.

Chasing his "amazing dream," 58-year-old Miles Hilton-Barber has set a world record as the first blind person to fly halfway across the world. Hilton-Barber, who lost his eyesight about 20 years ago, had voice-output technology installed on all the navigational devices on his microlight aircraft so he could complete the 13,500-mile flight from London to Sydney. Hilton-Barber, accompanied by his sighted co-pilot Storm Smith, took off in the two-seater microlight aircraft from Biggin Hill air base in south London on March 7.

According to certain reports, some of Japan's residents who wanted a poodle have been walking around with a sheep on the end of their leash. According to early reports, the scam was discovered when a Japanese film star appeared on a talk show talking about her gorgeous little puppy.
