A 9 year old Mexican boy Rafita Mirabal already has had about two dozen fights in bullrings since 2005, including his latest challenge on Sunday in Texcoco, just east of Mexico City. His contests differ slightly from a regular bullfight - the animals are younger and somewhat smaller, and he does not give the matador's final death blow with his sword. The ban on swordplay isn't to protect Rafita, but rather the sport's reputation.

On top of the bugs, now this household has another concern. New Jersey's Six Action News reports a bug bomb set up inside a home ended up working more like a real bomb Saturday.

A hospital is ending its liver transplant program after officials acknowledged in that doctors broke national standards by performing a transplant operation on a man who was not among the most needy patients. The patient in question was a Saudi Arabian citizen who was number-52 on the transplant list. Another patient, who was first on the list, died waiting for a donation. St. Vincent Medical Center president and chief executive Gus Valdespino says continuing investigations into the 2003 transplant, the obstacles of salvaging the program ,and competitive pressures led to the decision t terminate the program.

The highest level court in the United Methodist Church has defrocked a lesbian minister for violating the denomination's ban on "self-avowed, practicing homosexual" clergy. A church panel decided in December the Rev. Irene "Beth" Stroud, 35, engaged in practices the church has declared incompatible with Christian teachings. The decision was based on her being in a lesbian partnership.

A 20-year old University of Minnesota student was killed Saturday in a post-game celebration after the field goal post was torn down and struck the student in the head. Richard Thomas Rose, of Benton City, Wash. , was pronounced dead at a hospital after attempts to revive him on the field failed. No one else was reported hurt in the freak accident.
