A Utah teen stands accused of misdemeanor criminal mischief after he allegedly threw a penny at a BMW March 5, causing more than $900 in damage.
Police said the 18-year-old was only trying to get the attention of the car's occupants when he tossed the penny, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The teen missed his mark, hitting the roof of the Beamer instead. The wayward penny-toss caused $932.37 in damage to the luxury car.
Charges did not indicate exactly how a penny caused such extensive damage to the car.
