An Italian national was placed under arrest by Philippine aviation officials Wednesday after he joked he was carrying three nuclear bombs in his pocket and was a member of a terrorist group responsible for deadly attacks around the world. Salvini Fabrizio, who was carrying an Italian passport, was held at the final checkpoint of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila at 4:14 pm when he told police he was carrying bombs in his pocket.

A Palestinian woman was caught at the Gaza-Egypt border on Monday with three small crocodiles strapped to her body. Though fully veiled and robed, the woman raised suspicions due to her unusual lumpiness. Guards at first feared the woman was carrying a bomb, sparking a wave of panic through the border terminal.

A 74-year-old Italian granny got the shock of her life when she discovered a hand grenade in a sack of potatoes that she bought at a grocery market in southern Italy. Olga Mauriello, resident of San Giorgio, a small town near Naples, rushed to call her neighbors when she discovered the dirt-covered explosive device as she started pealing the potatoes.

Police in England is trying to solve a mysterious case of an animal-rights activist who reportedly sent "letter bombs" to three companies that provide forensic services to police. A 40-year-old woman working for Orchid Cellmark in Abingdon was hurt Thursday when she opened the explosive letter. Orchid Cellmark spokesman said, "We are shocked to have been targeted in this way and are relieved that our colleague was not seriously injured. We have provided forensic DNA services to the police for 20 years and this is the first time we have experienced anything of this nature. "
