A book with a lock of John Lennon's hair will be put up for auction on Wednesday, and experts predict that it could go for as much as $6,200.
The book "A Spaniard in the Works" was the same one Lennon gave to Betty Glasgow, the official Beatles hairdresser, with the lock of hair purposely inserted inside. Inside the book can be found the inscription, "To Betty, Lots of Love and Hair, John Lennon."
The two-in-one item, according to Gorringes auction house director Nick Muston, could possibly sell for an amount as much as $6,200.
The book is only one of the many Beatles memorabilia being put up for sale by Glasgow. Others included signed photographs of the Beatles that have been signed and dedicated to Glasgow.
One photograph, according to the AP, brandished a dedication signed by George Harrison, who wrote his name on the photo as George "Dandruff" Harrison.
According to Muston, Glasgow decided to sell them because she felt the fans would want to have them.
"She feels that rather than these things being stuck in a drawer with nobody enjoying them, real enthusiasts [could] get their hands on these things," CNN quoted Muston.
The auction will also feature a program, ticket and a screw taken from one of the seats at London's Hammersmith Apollo, where the Beatles held a Christmas concert in 1965.
CNN continued that Glasgow, who had served a long list of celebrities, owned a collection of memorabilia that includes a photo album filled with signed photographs and dedications from the likes of Michael Caine, Peter Ustinov from "Death on the Nile", Steve McQueen from "The War Lover", Harrison Ford, and the entire cast of the Harry Potter movies.
