In an effort to minimize the number of paw injuries in its canine force, police officials in Germany have mandated that all 20 members start wearing shoes. The German and Belgian shepherds of Dusseldorf police are currently being trained to walk in plastic fiber shoes designed by Wilhelm Fennen. Spokesman Andre Hartwich isn't sure if the dogs like wearing the new boots, but says the canine unit would have to get used to it.

A 60-year old man is suing an 8-year old boy and his father, after the boy crashed into him, resulting in an injury to the man's shoulder. David Pfahler, who was skiing at Beaver Creek last winter, claimed he and his wife filed a lawsuit against Scott Swim for crashing into him. The couple is seeking $75,000 in damages, and will be used to pay for several expenses such as physical therapy and vacation time.

A man in his 20's and wearing a Santa Claus hat and a scarf robbed a bank in Londonberry, New Hampshire taking away an undetermined amount of cash on Tuesday. Londonberry police are investigating the 5:00 p. m. robbery at St. Mary's Bank in Nashua Road and are gathering evidence that will lead them to the suspect.

Just days before their match against Romania, the Russian national rugby team are scrambling to for spare shoes after thieves reportedly stole have stolen several of their players' boots and other sporting gears. According to the payers of the Russian team, nine pairs of boots and other gear disappeared from the team's hotel in Bucharest during a power cut.

A Chinese restaurant was cited for two health violations after one of its employee was found stomping on garlic with his shoes on. Rockland County Health Department officials investigated the Great China Buffet restaurant after an employee at a nearby store alerted them to the unhygienic act, which he recorded on his cell phone.
