Fearing their students would get hurt and hold the school liable, officials at an elementary school south of Boston have banned kids from playing tag, touch football and any other unsupervised chase games during recess. Willett Elementary School Principal Gaylene Heppe approved the ban and told the AP recess sports could prove to be lawsuits waiting to happen.

Japanese Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi has set a new world record in speed eating. At the Boston lobster roll eating challenge, Kobayashi was able to devour 41 rolls in 10 minutes, smashing the previous record of 22 rolls.

A British Airways flight from London to Boston was diverted after a pregnant woman went into labor. The plane was unable to reach an airport before the baby was delivered with the help of the cabin crew and two passengers, who may have been medical students. A BA spokeswoman told Reuters, "The passenger was experiencing some distress. The baby was born shortly before the aircraft landed. "

Due to the intense heat wave, teens have resorted to going around and playing games in the bohemian town of Brattleboro in the nude. No one has been arrested or ticketed yet as public nudity isn't illegal unless done to arouse sexual gratification.

The "senior citizen bandit" has pleaded guilty to at least 10 counts of armed robbery. He also pleaded guilty to one firearms count after robbing banks in three Western states,. According to Assistant U. S. Attorney, Ivy Wang Charles Manrow, a 70-year-old robber from Pennsylvania, will be sentenced early next year after entering a plea on August 10. Manrow is linked to robberies in Southern California, Fresno, Utah and Arizona.
