Authorities said Monday that a 10-year-old Mexican boy glued his hand to his bed because he was still not ready to go back to school after the Christmas vacation.
"I thought if I was glued to the bed, they couldn't make me go to school. I didn't want to go, the holidays were so much fun," the boy Diego told AFP.
He stayed for two hours before he was finally freed from the industrial strength shoe glue he used to stick his hands to the metal headboard of the bed. He said, "I remembered my mom had bought a very strong glue."
Sandra Palacios, the boy's mother was very worried because she was unable to free him and called police and paramedics to help. Eventually, with the use of spray to dissolve the chemical adhesive, Diego was finally freed.
During the course of dissolving the glue from his hands, Diego was watching cartoons all the time.
"I don't know why this happened. He is a very good boy," said his mother.
Finally, Diego was able to go to school a few hours late.
