Bullet-proof bras designed to be comfortable and injury-proof have been issued to 3,000 policewomen in Germany for their protection. The bras are made of cotton or polyester and are padded. Unlike bullet-proof vests, they have no metal or plastic under-wire or fasteners that can pierce skin and injure the wearer when a bullet hit the body armor.

A Colorado hiker lost in southern Germany's Bavarian Alps for almost three days used her white bra to signal for help and it led rescuers to the ledge where she was stranded. An Oregon town mayor has been kicked out from her post after posing on a fire truck in her black bra and underwear. According to city officials, Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist narrowly lost in Monday's recall election, 142-139, in a town with 500 registered voters. The recall is effective Tuesday.
