Britain's Queen Elizabeth's clothes are to be displayed at Buckingham Palace from July 26 to Sept. 28 in an exhibit titled "Queen and Commonwealth: The Royal Tour."

Outfits spanning the past six decades will be exhibited in a special collection to mark the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Commonwealth.

The queen and her husband Prince Philip have made 170 official visits to all 53 Commonwealth nations during her 57-year rule.

This exhibition features a selection of the eye-catching dresses, hats, gloves and jewellery worn by the 82-year-old monarch - who is known for her impeccable sense of style - during these visits.

One of the outfits expected to appear in the exhibition is a bright yellow day dress and matching silk hat which Elizabeth wore during a tour of Australia in 1970. She was photographed wearing the ensemble - accessorised with a yellow and white diamond brooch in the form of Australia's national flower, wattle - at Sydney's Randwick racecourse.

Other garments created by royal designers Sir Normal Hartnell - who designed the queen's wedding dress - Sir Hardy Amies and Ian Thomas are also expected to appear in the exhibition.
