Authorities detained a British woman for allegedly going against a civil order and playing extremely loud music, causing disturbance within the neighborhood.
According to local police, 33-year old Tracey Kirby, mother of three, insisted on playing Madonna songs at full blast, despite the local court sending an anti-social behavior order (Asbo) and retrieving her stereo in response to the complaints of local residents. Neighbors claim that the woman had violated the order a total of 11 times, continuously playing songs from what was apparently her favorite musical artist.
The ruling decided that Kirby be jailed for a total of 90 days for violating the official order.
The court's decision came as obvious good news to neighbor Dave Schofield, 33.
"This is the best news we've had in ages," the UPI quoted Schofield, who lived with his 28-year old girlfriend and 11-year old daughter.
Schofield added that Kirby would also scream out singing, adding to the disturbance that at one time managed to wake up his daughter, whose bed was vibrating from the sound.
The family had reportedly been suffering from the loud noise for about three of the four years they have lived in the area.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Kirby had pled guilty three previous times of breaching the order, with an incident last year involving her explaining to officers that the loud sound was coming from a "little stereo" she had borrowed.
According to defense solicitor Graeme Parkinson, concerns are due regarding Kirby's behavior, which is indicative of a particular problem.
"Just what problems she is suffering from, nobody can say for sure," he said.
