In an attempt to prove his love for his wife, a British man from Isle of Wright turned his Land Rover to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", an all time favorite car model from the 1960's film that goes by the same name.

Retail store manager Nick Pointing spent thousands of dollars and four years to make his car into the same model as shown in the movie. Now the couple plan to take a 12-month career break and tour the world with the car raising money for charity.

This is London quotes his wife Carolyn as saying, "It's like a dream come true." However it wasn't an easy dream for the couple as husband Nick puts, "I went to various firms for help, but when they heard I wanted to build a replica of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang they looked at me as if I was a nut. So I've done it all myself."

While the vehicle cannot fly like its movie counterpart, it taught Pointing to weld and do a lot of technical stuff. The project has dominated their lives since 2003.
