Hollywood action movie hero Chuck Norris is currently leading the race in an online vote to pick a name for a new bridge in the Hungarian city of Budapest.
If he wins the vote, the bridge will be named "Chuck Norris Bridge." On Tuesday morning, the Hollywood actor has already received 8,725 votes. The figures represent 11 percent of the entire votes.
Norris is currently in the lead, ahead of Hungarian humorist Geza Hofi and Szent Istvan, the founder of the state which harbors the bridge.
The online polling will continue until September 8. Hungarians proposed more than five hundred names for the bridge ahead of the vote. Even Jamaican reggae icon Bob Marley was among those listed.
Hungarian officials will review the three winning names. They will also look at other proposals from local governments, cartographers, linguists and other experts. The bridge, which will open in 2008, spans Danube river in the north of Budapest.
