A man who illegally raised an alligator in a Buffalo, NY, basement contacted the state Department of Environmental Conservation to say he could no longer take care of his 8-foot, 170-pound pet. Now the gator is moving to an animal sanctuary in Tampa, FL, where it can live among other large reptiles. Although it is illegal to keep an alligator in New York state, the man who housed the gator in his basement won't be facing any charges because he turned himself in, officials said.

New York police have arrested a plus-size woman as a suspect in dozens of pickpocketing cases disguised as hugging. According to the officials, for the past decade Myra Castleberry, 48, has targeted dozens of drunken men as they came out of city's bars, fondled them as she secretly stole their wallets. Officials say Castleberry used the stolen credit cards within hours of the thefts.

Myra Castleberry is currently being held without bail for targeting dozens of unsuspecting men outside bars over the years. According to AP reports, Castleberry would distract men in the wee hours of the morning by caressing them and then stealing their wallets unknowingly. She would use the victims' credit cards within hours of the thefts.

She weighs in at about 200 pounds and loves to hug men coming out of bars. The only problem is, she also likes to take their wallets. Authorities call her the "Hugging Bandit" and are warning men to stay away from her. Reports claim that the "Hugging Bandit" waits by bars in the wee hours of the morning for men who have had a little too much to drink. She hugs them tightly, trying to talk them into something a little more, and then, "ZAP," their wallets are gone. She uses their credit cards within a few hours after stealing them.

What better gift could a wife give to her husband on Valentine's Day than donating her kidney to save his life. Pearl Hamilton said she didn't think twice when doctors decided her husband would need a transplant to survive. Byron Hamilton, a 57-year-old dairy farmer from Olean, New York, has been on dialysis for many years, Buffalo News said. Byron's kidney disease made him very weak and he was told by doctors that kidney transplant is the only way to survive. The transplant surgery is scheduled to take place Wednesday.
