The Boy Scouts of America have presented their highest honor to U. S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld accepted, saying, "I'm very honored to accept scouting's Silver Buffalo Award. Since its earliest days, the Boy Scouts have cultivated leadership and good citizenship, a service that has been recognized since the United States Congress first chartered the Boy Scouts back in 1916. "

Teen Accused Of Making 1,000 911 Calls

A teenage girl acknowledged making about 1,000 fake 911 calls from her cell phone, laughing, taunting and saying, "You can't catch me. " Some of the calls made this month lasted several minutes, and one lasted an hour. The girl was charged over the weekend with two counts of misdemeanor falsely reporting an incident for allegedly making six fake 911 calls from a local church phone Saturday.

A Buffalo, N. Y. , man has been reunited with his 1958 Sloan High School class ring that had been on the bottom of Lake Erie for 47 years. Ron Witkowski lost his 1958 Sloan High School ring in an embarrassing fashion. Witkowski -- then 17 -- and a buddy were swimming at Sherkston-Elco Beach in Ontario when his friend lost his contact lenses. A week later, the two teens decided to drop Witkowski's ring in the water in the same spot to track where the current might have carried the lenses. They never found the ring or the lenses.
