A 50-year-old Vietnamese man, who had a buillet lodged lungs for almost three decades,had the bullet successfully removed Monday.
Vu Van Thanh, was presented the bullet by his doctors at the Thanh Hoa hospital after the bullet was removed from him about two weeks ago.
The AR15 bullet with 2.5-centimeter long had been stuck in his lungs since 1978 when he was shot while fighting in neighboring Cambodia.
The Surgeon, Dr. Nguyen Van Chung said Monday, "I have never seen a case like this. It's amazing that he didn't feel pain until recently."
According to Chung, his patient was fine after several tests were conducted and after the three-hour operation, the patient was sent home.
