New Yorkers Lift Bus Off Dying Pregnant Woman, Her Baby Lives

Several New York City residents pitched in Thursday to lift a five-ton bus off a dying pregnant woman, saving her unborn baby in the process. New York City Police Department traffic agent Donnette Sanz, 33, was crossing a Bronx street when a van struck her, knocking her into the path of a 10,000-pound school bus. She was run over and pinned under the bus.

"Please kill me. " These were the only words muttered in court Tuesday by the man who stabbed to death a bus passenger in Manitoba before beheading the victim and eating his flesh. Vince Weiguang Li uttered the words after shaking his head in response to a judge's question if he wanted an attorney. The judge ordered another hearing on Friday.

Ottawa Commuters Complain Baby Strollers Take Up Too Much Space On Buses

The head of Ottawa's transportation commission, Alain Mercier, will meet soon with different commuter groups to address congestion problems on the national capital city's public buses. Rising fuel cost has lead more Ottawa residents to shift to public transport to go to work or school. To maximize space, some commuter groups have pushed for regulations on baby strollers, which take up space on public buses. One proposal is to require proper folding and stashing of the strollers inside the bus.

Greyhound Bus Passenger Beheaded By Seatmate

A man sleeping on a Greyhound bus traveling through Canada was killed and decapitated by his seatmate Wednesday night. Witnesses describe hearing a bloodcurdling scream and seeing a man standing over the victim, continually stabbing him. The passengers exited the bus and barred the attacker inside, according to msnbc. com.

Police In Jakarta Will Use Skateboards To Patrol Traffic Jams

The roadways of the Indonesian capital Jakarta have long been plagued by congestion, affecting even police response to emergencies. The answer: skateboards. Jakarta's traffic police chief thinks skateboards will be able to get the traffic police to a congested road much faster than cars or motorbikes. He's hired a professional skateboarder to teach 20 police officers, so they can begin patrolling starting July 1.
