Former U. K. Prime Minister Tony Blair can now be seen in his cameo role in an online White House video of U. S. president Bush's dog. The Barney Cam, an annual Christmas movie starring the White House Scottish terrier, gives a dog's-eye view of the White House decorated for Christmas.

Two turkeys have been released from a possible death sentence, thanks to the unconditional pardon given by President Bush himself. The distribution of the pardon for the two fowls was done during the 60th annual pardoning ceremony of the National Thanksgiving Turkey, in which the White House saves at least one bird from the blade of the axe.

A Kenyan man killed a lion with his bare hands in Samburu, about 260 kilometers northeast of the capital Nairobi, only to be attacked by a pack of hyenas a few moments later, the country's media reported Tuesday. He succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital Monday.

Nobel Prize winning author Doris Lessing has said that the 9/11 attacks were not as bad as the reign of terror waged by the IRA on mainland Britain. The Associated Press (AP) reports Lessing, in conversation with the leading Spanish daily El Pais, as saying "September 11 was terrible, but if one goes back over the history of the IRA, what happened to the Americans wasn't that terrible. "

Attending the key Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Sydney, U. S. President George Bush has confused the name of the meeting with OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries). The president made the slip in a speech to a group of business leaders. President Bush was on stage at the Sydney Opera House when he thanked Australian Prime Minister John Howard for his kind introduction and also for being such a good host for the "OPEC" summit.
