Lakeside School in Seattle is receiving $40 million the Microsoft founder who left the school in 1973. The money is intended to fund scholarships to help underprivileged children attend the private school.

The internationally known mascot of the McDonald's fast food chain is undergoing an "extreme makeover" in Japan. Ronald McDonald is being replaced by a woman sporting a bikini and high heels. The change is part of a global effort by McDonald's to promote healthy living and to emphasize other products rather than burgers and chips.

Several South Florida sandwich shops are working on an order placed by the national Red Cross for 200,000 sandwiches for delivery in three days. The sandwich order, worth $2 million, has been placed by the Red Cross to be delivered to Katrina evacuees in Texas.
