A British businessman is using his frequent flyer miles from Virgin Atlantic to fly on the company's newest venture, Virgin Galactic.

Alan Watts, will trade his 2 million miles to travel 75 miles; but this time he's going straight up!

Virgin Atlantic Airways spokeswoman Katie Francis says that commercial tourism flights to space will cost normal passengers $200,000, but for Watts, the miles he accrued from over 30 flights on the airline will be enough to ensure him a seat for free.

"The nearest I've come to space before was going on the Space Mountain ride in [Disney World]" Watts said.

Virgin owner, Richard Branson explains, "When we first contacted Alan to let him know he had qualified for this unique offer, I think he thought it was a prank call."

"Personally I am delighted that we have made it possible for Alan to do something that previously he had never dreamed was possible for him."
