Viewers of a news show broadcast in a Phoenix-area cable television station were shocked when their television screens started showing hard-core pornography for a few minutes instead of a regularly scheduled health show featuring former NBC News anchor, Tom Brokaw.
KPPX-TV's cable provider Cox Communications was flooded with calls from anxious viewers Monday night who complained they saw scenes from a hard-core adult movie on their television screens.
Cox spokeswoman Andrea Katsenes has however called it a "source issue," saying the problem was with the broadcaster and ION Television, which operates KPPX. At KPPX, the company says it was "an act of human sabotage" at it's station.
The West Palm Beach, Florida-based company declined to say if the clips were aired all across the U.S. or only in the Phoenix market. The network has launched a "rigorous investigation" on the issue and promises to take strict disciplinary action against the person responsible for it.
