A new 2006 calender is naughty, but the faithful may not find it nice.

A German Protestant youth compiled the calender using 12 staged photos depicting erotic scenes from the Bible, including a topless Delilah cutting Samson's hair and a naked Eve offering an apple, reports Reuters.

"There's a whole range of biblical scriptures simply bursting with eroticism," says photographer Stefan Wiest.

One photo shows 21-year-old Anne Rohmer wearing garters and stockings to portray the prostitute Rahab. "We wanted to represent the Bible in a different way and to interest young people," she tells Reuters.

The pastor of the church that is selling the calendar is supportive of the venture.

"It's just wonderful when teenagers commit themselves with their hair and their skin to the bible," says Bernd Grasser.
