A Greyhound bus veered off of a freeway and overturned just after 7 a. m. local time, Sunday killing two people, one of whom was seven months pregnant. The bus, which had left Los Angeles at 3:15 a. m. , slid for at least 100 yards after flipping over and hit a tree. A man and a pregnant woman were killed in the accident.

A 40-year-old man is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of toy Lego sets. William Swanberg, who remains behind bars pending a $250,000 bail, allegedly stole Lego sets from Target stores in Oregon by switching the bar codes of the boxes, covering over the pricing labels of expensive sets with labels from inexpensive ones.

As per Thanksgiving tradition, President George W. Bush has pardoned two turkeys. Previous lucky birds would spend their days at a petting zoo, but this pair is destined for the famous Disneyland in California.

Two turkeys that were being plumped up for a White House Thanksgiving have been spared by President Bush. Instead of becoming dinner, the birds will be honorary grand marshals at Disneyland's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Sam, the dog who earned the undisputed title as the world's ugliest dog for years, has died. The pup with the hairless body, crooked teeth and sparse tuft of hair on his knobby and knotty head died on Friday, just shy of his 15th birthday, according to his owner, Susie Lockheed. "I don't think there'll ever be another Sam," she says, "Some people would think that's a good thing. "Sam became an international celebrity after winning the ugliest animal contest at the 2003 Sonoma-Marin Fair in California.
