The Cambodian police took custody of a cow that caused a fatal traffic accident on Monday, the British media reported on Tuesday.
According to Sky News, Pin Doman, the chief of a police station based on the outskirts of Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, said he is holding a five-foot tall cow at his precinct after a 66-year-old motorcyclist crashed into the animal and died on Monday.
The animal was standing in the middle of the main road when the accident happened.
It was the second accident involving the said cow. The Daily Telegraph said that early this year, the cow was also standing in the main road and a passing truck veered and crashed to avoid hitting the animal.
The accident killed five people and injured several others.
Pin said he had warned the cow's owner four times in the past to keep the cattle leashed. He said the owner may be jailed if the victims' relatives will file charges against him.
