Canadian Judge Bans Man From Having A Girlfriend For Three Years

In an unusual ruling, a judge in Canada has ordered a man to not to form "a romantic relationship of an intimate nature with a female person. " The verdict came as part of the punishment to Steven Cranley, 24, who pleaded guilty on Tuesday to abusing his former lover. According to court documents, Cranley began quarreling with his girlfriend after getting upset with her over their recent breakup. When his girlfriend tried to call police, he attacked her, cut telephone wires and when a roommate tried to intervene he threatened to slit their throats.

Tri Of Golfers Play 110 Holes In One Day

Accepting the challenge of a friend to pot 108 holes in the game of golf, Beatrice High School golf coach Dick Stuart, middle school teacher Ben Essam and golf pro Joel Brueggemann made a record of sorts by playing 110 holes, a bit more than the original goal. When their friend Jim Edwards said it was impossible to play six rounds of golf in one day, the trio decided to start at 5:45 a. m. and finished two more than six rounds of 18 holes at 9:15 p. m. The first few holes were literally played in the morning fog.

81-Year-Old Man Pedals Around Arizona For Charity Mission

An 81-year-old man has taken up a tough mission for his age to be able to help an aid organization for homeless people. Bill Anderson of Yuma will be bicycling around Arizona's perimeter; a 2,000-mile trek that he expects will take two weeks to cover. According to Anderson his biking tour is dedicated to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness, while collecting donations from volunteers on the way.

Man Faces Prosecution After Killing Pet Goose

David Gregory Davis of Marysville might have never imagined that the goose that became the target of his gun in April will drag him to court. The 48-year-old, who faces an arraignment on June 26 in Yuba County Superior Court, has been charged with three misdemeanor charges in the fatal shooting of a pet goose named Wee Wee. According to the bird's owners, Todd Hulsey and Sharri Neel, Wee Wee was a friendly bird that would follow them along a riverbank on a fishing trip and wait for them at the gate when they returned home from work.

California Town Launches Goose-Egg Oiling Campaign

In a bid to get rid of the growing number of Canada geese in the city park and the nuisance caused by the birds' droppings, officials in Monterey, California have launched an annual campaign which will call on residents to coat the eggs with vegetable oil, suffocating the embryo inside. The campaign is a part of the 5-year-old federal order aimed at ending the nesting which causes damage and contaminates the parks and private land.
