As the New Year is just round the corner, the markets are flooded with new calendars for 2007, most of them featuring semi-nude pictures. In one of them, Miss December is shown wearing nothing but a Santa hat and a smile. One such organization is The Humane Society in the city of Jefferson, about 50 miles west of Milwaukee. It is one of the many nonprofit organizations from Australia to Wisconsin selling tastefully nude calendars for next year.

A 78-year-old great-grandfather is still playing Santa Claus after 54 years, despite having 17 heart attacks, two strokes, cancer and kidney failure. Dan Jones from Birmingham, England is not letting his ill health to stop him from performing the role of Santa every year because the children enjoyed it so much.

An Alaska woman who died earlier this month won reelection to a rural school board when her opponent called "heads" on a coin toss that landed on "tails" last week. The coin toss broke the electoral tie between the two candidates, with the deceased woman as the victor, Alaska officials report. Katherine Dunton died of cancer on October 3, the day of the local election. She and her opponent, Dona Highstone ran neck and neck and the election tie had to be broken by a democratic coin toss.

A 26-year-old man recently painted a Huntington bridge pink when he noticed it needed some painting job. But Jason Sansom did not obtain permission before doing the job. All he did was buy paint worth $50, and then began painting the bridge pink without any approval. He chose the pink color in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Top Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm has "dropped a house upside down" on the roof of the Viennese Museum of Modern Art. The art project, entitled "House-Attack," is intended to look as if the house has fallen out of the sky and landed on the famous museum in the center of the Austrian capital.
