A man who lost his wallet during a late-night swim in the ocean after a night of drinking was sure it was gone for good, but a bit later he got a suprising phone call telling him it had been turned in. He was even more suprised when he learned how it had been recovered - a diver had found a lobster with the wallet clenched between its claws. After the diver spotted the lobster, he picked it up and pried the wallet from its pincers. Finding a business card inside, the diver took the wallet to the swimmer's hair salon and handed it over to the salon's employees.

Christmas cards signed by Britain's royal family were sold at an auction Tuesday. The cards, that fetched a total of 5,500 pounds ($10,400), included photo cards signed by Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. Cottees auction house in Wareham, in the south-western county of Dorset, said 13 cards sent by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and the late Queen Mother to the King and Queen of Greece in the late 1970s and early 1980s, were purchased by a London collector.

An estimated 2,000 magicians from around the globe, from China to the Virgin Islands are taking part in this week's World Championship in Magic in Stockholm, Sweden. A report by the AP says tables floating shoulder-high, cards sailing through the air, rabbits pulled out of habits, a table levitating were just a few of the tricks the competitors were presenting.
