World's Largest Carpet From Iran As Big As Soccer Field
Iran has woven the world's largest carpet which is the size of a soccer field, the AFP reported on Tuesday. The AFP reported that the wool carpet measures 5,626 square meters (60,546 square feet). The United Arab Emirates ordered it for $5.8 million to be used in a mosque in its capital Abu Dhabi named after UAE founder and president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahayan.
Drunk Man Parks Horse In Bank At Night
When a drunk German man, identified only as Wolfgang H, found no parking place for his horse, he used a bank's automatic teller machine for that purpose. The horse's owner apparently drank a bit too the night before and decided to sleep it off inside the bank's heated foyer. Talking to the Bild newspaper, the 40-year-old machinist said he had "a few beers" with a friend in Wiesenburg, southwest of Berlin.
Woman Sound Asleep Only Inches Away From Where Airplane Engine Piece Crashes
One woman is lucky to have escaped injury after a piece of an airplane crashed into the roof of a home near Midway Airport in Chicago, Illinois. A 12-inch disc from an engine turbine wheel fell only 2 feet from Dorothy Gohn's bed, while she was laying there sleeping. Authorities from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) say Gohn wasn't injured in the accident.
Plumber Discovers 7-Foot Python Hidden In Woman's Toilet
An Australian wildlife worker was called to pull a 7-foot python out of a septic tank, after a plumber found it hiding in a woman's toilet. Peter Phillips, a wildlife officer for the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Service, said in a statement released by the Northern Territory government, "The ... resident originally called a plumber because her toilet was blocked. I arrived to see a large python head peering out of the toilet bowl."
