Coffee made from beans that have passed through the bowel of an Indonesian jungle cat is being sold by a department store here for $100 a cup. The coffee, called Caffe Raro, is made from a blend of a rare Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, and another, Kupi Luwak, which is harvested from the droppings of civet cats.

An entire family managed to escape the flames engulfing their Allendale home, thanks to the screaming of the family cat. Dianne Busscher was woken up at 4:45 a. m. by the cries of the black-and-white cat, Oreo, coming from the garage. Upon investigating, Busscher saw the smoke and flames, prompting her to grab the cat, rush back inside and wake up Warren, her husband, and their five children.

In an attempt to protect her dog, an 80-year old woman shot and killed a mountain lion that was in her French Creek home. Martha Smith tried to shoot the lion but missed the first time, forcing her to rush back to her house and dial 911.

Idaho power officials have blamed a cat for a blackout on Monday afternoon that affected more than 12,000 homes and businesses in Nampa City. The blackout lasted more than two hours, and officials say it was started when feeder lines blew up after a cat touched a live circuit inside a power substation. The cat was electrocuted to death.

Without food and water for nearly two months, a cat accidentally locked in a garden shed by her owner survived by licking condensation off the windows. According to her owner, he had almost given up Emmy for lost after the ten-year old cat failed to show up.
