South Korean scientists said that after altering genes and cloning the cats, they made the cats that glow red when exposed to ultraviolet rays. The experiment may be counted as one of the big steps towards using the genetic technology for the modification of human genes to cure diseases, according to the Science and Technology Ministry.

A cat breeder who stored dozens of dead cats in her freezer will have six cats, including two dead ones, returned to her that were seized by authorities. Officials had charged Heidi Erickson with animal cruelty. Authorities found five malnourished cats, a malnourished dog and more than 60 dead cats in her Boston apartment in 2003. Most of the dead animals were stored in freezers.

A cat called Wild Oats went for 19 whole days with a jar on its head, to the frustration and the concern of a woman who has been feeding it for years. Tabitha Cain recalled seeing the cat with an empty peanut butter jar on its head, and tried to catch it to get the jar off.

For her four years of burglarizing the Windsor Castle, Mime has been aptly penalized or rewarded in her case, as she was finally accorded a royal treatment at the royal palace. Mime, a ten-year old cat who lives in a Chinese restaurant nearby, is a regular visitor at the royal palace, dining with other members of the royalties - the Queen's dogs.
