Protesters Burn Effigies Of Richard Gere After He Kisses Indian Actress Repeatedly

Protesters in India were outraged when Hollywood actor Richard Gere repeatedly kissed popular Indian actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness campaign in New Delhi, India. Calling the act as anti-Indian, leaders from many religious groups burned effigies of both the actors in various Indian cities, raised anti-Gere slogans and also demanded that Gere should apologize for his act. Local television channels repeatedly showed footage of Gere sweeping the much elated Shetty backwards in an embrace after he starts planting kisses on the actress.

Michigan Boy Collects Vacuum Cleaners

A 12-year-old Michigan boy has collected quite an array of vacuum cleaners. Kyle Krichbaum has more than 150 in his collection and even displays some of them in his bedroom. Kyle said he got his first working model when he was 3-years-old after following his parents around repeatedly when they were vacuuming.

A 16-year-old Indian ring neck parakeet A. J. has become an Internet video star after his video appeared on YouTube and other internet sites. His proud trainer, David Cota says A. J. can easily plunge a tiny basketball on a tiny court, roll over, shake his leg and use a tiny putter to sink putts on a miniature golf course. A. J. 's popularity has helped him reach the "Tonight" show and win an "outrageous bird" viral video contest sponsored by MagRack, an on-demand television network.

"TomKat" and "Brangelina" Included In List Of Banished Words

Lake Superior State University on Sunday released its annual "List of Words and Phrases Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness. " The words included "gone missing," "ask your doctor" and many celebrity combined names such as "TomKat" or "Brangelina. "The list has reportedly been compiled since 1976 to attract publicity by the Sault Ste. Marie school in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A total of 16 words or phrases were selected by a university committee from more than 4,500 nominations.

British Man Sets Record For Traveling Across Australia On Skateboard

A British man has become the first person to travel 3,000 miles across Australia on a skateboard. Graphic designer Dave Cornwaithe, from Swansea, England took five months or exactly 90 days to complete his new world record. The 27-year-old Cornthwaite has become a minor celebrity in Australia for his feat and was nicknamed "Crazy Pom. "
