A Louisiana woman is suing restaurant company Applebee's International Inc. , charging she found a severed fingertip in her salad. The lawsuit - the second filed in the United States this year involving a severed finger in restaurant food - was filed last week in state court in Jefferson, Louisiana.

A 12-year-old girl faces attempted murder and aggravated battery charges after trying to run a police officer over with a car. According to local authorities, a Polk County Sheriff's deputy fired several shots at a 12-year-old girl who attempted to run him over with a car.

Alarmed residents called the Elk Grove police department after spotting a man walking around the city streets with an orange, prison-issued jumpsuit. After a two-hour search, police caught up with Peter Meeter (real name), 21, who told police he liked the clothes issued him during a recent stint in county jail. So much, in fact, he smuggled them out under his street clothes.

A Florida Sheriff's deputy used a shock from a Taser gun to subdue an intoxicated 13-year-old San Carlos Park girl who attacked two nurses at Lee Memorial Hospital early Thursday. The teen later was cleared medically by hospital staff and sent to the Lee County Juvenile Assessment Center on charges ranging from loitering to battery and resisting arrest.
