A farmer in a Kazakhstan village claims his chicken laid an egg with the word "Allah" written on its shell.

Bites Amantayeva, from the village of Stepnoi in eastern Kazakhstan, tells state news agency Kazinform, "Our mosque confirmed that it says 'Allah' in Arabic."

He adds, "We'll keep this egg and we don't think it'll go bad."

The hen laid the egg after a powerful hail storm struck the village.

Sunni Islam is the main religion in Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia.
