Australian scientists from Sydney IVF, a fertility firm, got a license Wednesday to produce cloned human embryos. It is Australia's and the world's first license to obtain stem cells from cloned human embryos. It is expected to generate controversy in medical research over ethical issues.

Elisabeth Fritzl, the woman who was locked in a cellar for 24 years by her father, who raped her and fathered her children, has spoken out about what her life was like while kept prisoner by her domineering father. In an interview with an Austrian judge, Elisabeth, 42, said that her father, Josef, raped her at least three times a week for all those years. Of the seven children he fathered with her, three lived in the cellar, while three were chosen by Josef to be raised in the house by he and his wife. One child died in infancy, and Josef reportedly incinerated the baby's corpse.

A new lo-tech video game created by a 22-year-old Australian man called "Muslim Massacre" has been deemed tasteless and off the mark as far as satire is concerned. The video game, small freeware PC action game allows the player to be an American whose job is to murder all Muslims using a huge arsenal of weapons.

An outraged father is demanding a full investigation after learning that his 6-year-old son was involved in a "sex-club," in which elementary aged children were performing sex acts on each other in school bathrooms. The father told the Australian News much of his anger comes from the fact that the school waited six days to notify him after catching the children and forcing them to write statements in which the boys said they were in a sex club, meaning they would force other children to perform sex acts on them, and they would perform sex acts on others.
