Cyberbullying is on the rise with methods becoming meaner, including posting photos and videos on social networking websites. A report by the University of New Hampshire's Crimes Against Children Research Center said the number of young Americans between the ages 10 to 17 who experienced online harassment has gone up by 50 percent from 2000 to 2005.

Ten people including three children were safely rescued by a fishing vessel in Aleutian Islands after being trapped as a volcano erupted, spewing rocks and ash. According to U. S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Levi Read, 10 people were rescued south of the Okmok volcano on Umnak Island.

The world's oldest blogger has died after posting her final blog about singing "a happy song" in her nursing home on July 12. She died at the age of 108. Olive Riley, an Australian woman had posted more than 70 blog entries since February 2007.

There is a proposal in the Bundestag to grant German children voting rights. A bipartisan group of 46 lawmakers made the proposal that would grant 14 million young Germans a chance to have their voices be heard in political matters. Under the proposal, parents would vote for their children. German federal law grants universal suffrage to all adults at least 18-years-old, but a number of states allow 16-year-old citizens to cast their ballot at local elections.

German authorities are searching for a killer in what is being called one of the worst cases of animal cruelty in the country's history. Since last year, more than 40 pet bunny-rabbits have been killed in the night in their outdoor hutches. Horrified owners found their beloved pets decapitated and drained of all their blood in many cases. The killer takes the head and collects the blood, leading investigators to think that the animal killer is involved in the occult or Satanism.
