Authorities arrested the mayor of a small town in Chile after the man disrupted the shoot of the next James Bond film.
The mayor, Carlos Lopez of Sierra Gorda, allegedly drove a Jeep into the shoot demanding for filming to halt, as his permission was not asked. His vehicle was followed by about 200 people.
According to The Advertiser, Lopez also complained about how the film, entitled Quantum of Solace, was to be presented under the pretense that the story would be taking place in Bolivia.
The production offered the mayor $735 in compensation, but Lopez adamantly refused.
Local authorities arrested the mayor, whose vehicular ambush nearly ran over two people by a broken down train station used for the set, and charged him with disorderly conduct and trespassing, reported the AFP.
The movie, set to be the 22nd installment of the Bond series, will revive Daniel Craig as James Bond, and is set for a British release on October 31, before its international release on November 7.
