A Chinese bride wore a 7,093-foot-long gown on her wedding day Thursday as her groom wanted to beat the world record for the longest wedding gown.
Groom Zhao Peng, 28, and his family and relatives made the dress for Lin Rong, 25, to also show his love for her. It took three months to make at a cost of $5,852.
A total 9,999 roses were pinned to the gown stitched with 608 crystals during the wedding day. The unrolling of the gown from a train and pinning of the roses took three hours to finish before the bride wore it.
The current Guinness record for the world's longest wedding gown is 5,180 feet long. The dress was made in Romania in April.
The groom, a train worker, had applied with the Guinness World Record to make the gown the longest. Zhao will also send a video of the gown to the GWR in London.
